Massage with Louise Elliott

Louise first became interested in Massage in 1979 while traveling in Scandinavia. After thoroughly enjoying the benefits of massage, she took classes in Bergen, Sweden and Oslo, Norway and, in 1980, enrolled in classes and workshops in Kuusumo, Finland near Helsinki.

Back in the US, Louise enrolled at the Twin Lakes Massage School in Santa Cruz, CA, earning her Certification in 1981 and pursued further training at the Hartwood School of Massage in the Russian River Valley and at Esalen in Big Sur. She continued to practice part-time until the birth of her daughter, Alicia, in 1988 at which time she began to practice full-time as The Healing Place in Georgetown.

Louise truly believes that massage and body work are a creative, intuitive and organic art form that are important as a basis for healing. As she continues to grow in her practice, she feels very blessed and sees her clients as her best teachers.

Louise volunteers at the Georgetown Community Radio Station, KFOK with a show on alternating Monday evenings from 8:00 – 10:00. In addition, she is passionate about Ikebana flower arranging and gardening.

Louise encourages massage following yoga and is available most days. Please call for an appointment at 530-903-6650. Please join us in welcoming Louise to The Yoga Place!

Healing Touch with Rose Malanche-Bowen

Rose Malanche-Bowen is a Healing Touch Practitioner and Energy healer, certified by the American Holistic Nurses Association in 1996.

While working as an ultrasonographer diagnosing the peripheral vascular system at The Naval Medial Center in San Diego, she observed patients' energy depletion by physical, mental and/or emotional illness.  She sought alternative health practices incorporating energy modalities which would compliment allopathic medicine.  Following her training, she provided in-hospital pre and post surgical and clinical patients with Healing Touch to relieve pain and accelerate the healing process.  The results she and her patients observed were both encouraging and profound.
During a Healing Touch session, the client is fully clothed; the practitioner acts as a conductor of the Universal Energy Field while balancing the client's own Human Energy Field.  Clients experience a sense of well being (or ease) which is conducive to increasing the immune system and relieving physical, mental and emotional dis-ease.  The strictest confidentiality is maintained by the practitioner.
Rose and her husband, Eddie, lost their home in the Cedar Fire in Southern California in 2003 and moved to the divide in 2006.  They recently completed building their new home in Volcanoville.
Rose will begin healing sessions in November.  The fee is $35 and a session usually lasts about 1 hour however, it is best to allow up to 1 hour and 15 minutes for each session.
